Hello, dear friends —
I’m swinging in a couple days late (and some dollars short but we all know that story by now) with our weekly newsletter because I have been away! My entire extended family rents a beach house once a year and I’ve been spending time with fam, walking on sand, dipping toes in the ocean, and reading the entire mountain of books I picked up at one of my favorite places: The Island Bookstore in Corolla. It’s in an old house. There’s a porch where you can read. A juice stand sits out in their grassy backyard. When we checked out, the clerk said how grateful she was for us shopping local with them, and while I didn’t get into it with her, I tried to psychically convey EXACTLY HOW MUCH I KNEW IT MEANT. It means the world. I’m reading every word.
While I was gone, Mycelium went through a portal without me: Our brick and mortar turned one year old. WE DID IT. WE MADE IT. With a new year comes renewed focus. We’re expanding our makers space area to accommodate more classes. (Sorry in advance for the mess this week.) We’re updating the website to start putting ALL of our inventory online. We’re asking our community questions about what yall need from us. Feel free to reply here and let me know. While the future is still (very) scary, and certainly (very) uncertain, we’re building momentum for another year of this Gemini whirlwind of a business, and we can’t wait to make art with you.

Figure Drawing begins at 5:30. Join us for figure drawing with a live, clothed model. (Our buddy Aries!) We’ll start with a series of short poses and then settle into some longer portraits! 🍄

Fiber Party begins at 2. Hang out, drink tea, and make some art during our once-a-week hang devoted to all things fibrous: crochet, knit, cross stitch, quilt, or make prints on paper (it’s a fiber!) using a pasta maker?!? Our hearts are always full after this hang 💕
